Edit 4 - FINAL EDIT

Noreen Abdallah - All shots have now been filled in and the effects and colour pallet have been rearranged and fixed. The narrative is very clear in this edit, due to each shot matching a certain part of the lyrics, which also makes it much more effective. There is a variety of new shots and angles and the sound track has been edited back to normal. Scenes have been re-shot to improve the quality and edited in. The music video contains a good sense of continuity and has an agreed ending. We have had a range of positive verbal feedback towards this edit from our audience and peers, which has allowed us to be more confident with having this as our final edit.

Edit 3

Noreen Abdallah - The majority of our shots were now filled in such as the shots of the artist rapping and various narrative scenes. More of the scenes match up to the lyrics more clearly, which had made the narrative become clearer also. This edit includes a vary of different scenes and camera angles compared to the last two edits and more colour had been used. Music video theories such as that of Andrew Goodwin are now introduced subtly. An ending is also shown in this edit, however our group had agreed this would not be the ending of the final edit.

Edit 2

Noreen Abdallah - Once more not all shots were filmed at this stage, however scenes were now being edited on a beat making the present shots more effective and helped the audience to engage with the song and music video. We still had an issue with the quality of some scenes, and therefore had agreed that we would reshoot these scenes. There was now a new range of shots than those in the previous edit; however the colour pallet was still seen as too bland. Some scenes now matched the lyrics and the development is becoming slightly visible.

Edit 1

Noreen Abdallah - In this first edit we hadn't filmed all the scenes needed for it to be complete. This then meant that the narrative wasn't made clear and this was commented on by audience members in a feedback survey. The shots were very repetitive at this point due to the incomplete filming of all additional scenes. There was not enough variety amongst the shots and the colour pallet, although fitting into our genre of rap, was seen as very bland and made the video quite flat. The lack of shots also meant that there was no real ending to the music video, which was something we were sure to work on in the next edit. Also the sound track of our song was cut in different areas which caused it to sound strange at the end of the music video.

  1. The narrative is made clear and the the use of colour is effective, a few more shots are needed to improve it .

  2. Not clear which is the final version also needs some commentary to help chart the development between edits.
